We have a good selection of kayaks and kayaking gear available for hire.
Hiring a single kayak plus gear (paddle, helmet, life jacket, spray skirt; we have a small number of paddle jackets as well) will cost you $10.00 per day as a member, and it's $20.00 per day for non-members. Topo Duo double kayak ($20 per day for members, $30 for non-members)
Incept inflatable double kayak, including gear ($30 per day for members, $40 for non-members)
Incept six person raft, including gear ($ 60 per day for members, $60 for non-members)
Sea Kayaks:
The club does not have sea kayaks for hire, but can rent up to 10 sea kayaks* for club trips from Manawatu College in Foxton. The cost is $25 per kayak, including sprayskirt, paddle and pump.
*These are real sea kayaks, with a cockpit, sealed front and rear compartments and a rudder. Hireagen contract can be downloaded from our Utilities page.
The contact for hiring boats and gear is Iain Campbell, Ph 027 285 1975. Please give Iain at least two days notice if you want to hire kayaks and/or gear.
The fine print:
For non-members our hire gear is available only for activities organised by the club.
The hirage fee must be paid when you pick up the items you are hiring.
Unless other arrangements are made with the hire gear custodian (Iain) the gear must be returned, cleaned, immediately after the trip for it was used (i.e on the same day the trip ended).
BTW. If you want to buy your own gear, RWWC members get a 10% discount when buying gear from Kayaker LTD.
