Who we are & CONTACTS
The Ruahine White Water Club is a group of friendly, enthusiastic people from all walks of life (including both born-and-bred Kiwis and more recent arrivals to New Zealand) who explore rivers and sections of coastline. Trips range from afternoon jaunts down the lower Rangitikei river to week-long expeditions in the Marlborough Sounds or down the Whanganui River. Members kayak as far north as the Wairoa River in the Kaimai Range, and as far south as Fiordland. Participants range from those just starting out who enjoy the scenery of the lower Rangitikei to the highly experienced paddlers who tackle its upper reaches.
Aside from kayaking trips, the club does on occasion organise slaloms, canoe polo games and club races. These are more about having fun and getting together than about hard nosed-competition and are enjoyed by all levels of paddlers.
