COVID 19 and kayaking trips. We can run kayaking trips under alert levels 1 and 2. 
Under alert level 1, we can do so almost as we did before COVID 19. However, please do not come on trips if you have respiratory disease symptoms. Also please let the trip organizer know if you develop respiratory disease symptoms within 4 days after
 the trip, and make sure that the trip organizer can contact you after the trip - just in case.

Under alert level 2 we need to take some additional precautions. Here is the link to alert level 2 guidelines.


December 2020

Saturday 5 December-Sunday 6 December: Ngaruroro: Kuripapango to Whanawhana/Fernhill (Grade 3-4). We will camp overnight by the river before the trip on Saturday get on the river early and run the trip (~ 5h) on Sunday.

Sunday 6 December: Cape Kidnappers sea kayaking trip (Experienced kayakers with own equipment only)

Saturday 12 - Sunday 13 December: RWWC Christmas event on/at the Tongariro river (Grade 2 and Grade 3 sections can be run; details tbc).

Saturday 19 December: Xmas at Kaituna

Sunday 20 December: Rangitikei Grade 2 trip. Suitable for beginners. Have a look on OUR RIVERS at what it's like.

Saturday 26 December:
Mangahao slalom site scheduled flow (8am-4pm). Have a look on OUR RIVERS at what it's like.

Monday 28 December: Manganui o te Ao. Grade 2-grade 3 section below Ruatiti. Never done it? Have a look at Mel's video of a trip on that section!

January 2021 

Monday 18 January: Committee meeting at Iain's

Saturday 30 January - Sunday 31 January: Mohaka Willow Flat (Grade 4) section. The plan would be to drive up on the Saturday and do the trip on the Sunday. While we are currently aiming for Willow flat, the Mohaka also has grade 2 and grade 3 sections. Depending on who wants to come we could consider other sections as well, including different groups doing different sections.

February 2021

Saturday 20 February: Tongariro Access 10 release. Grade 3. Have a look on OUR RIVERS at what the river is like. 

​Sunday 21 February: Tongariro Access 14 (Grade3-4 = Access 10 on steroids) and Access 13 (Grade 3) release.  Tongariro releases 

Sunday 14 February:    Wairoa Extreme Race
